There's an obvious anniversary to mark. And a not so obvious one. It's a year (and a day) since we lost Verity Lambert.

Just seen this on the Radio Times website; I don't recall of any other programmes like this so I don't think it's a repeat (sorry if it is).

Someone (David Brider?) had speculated about this a while back, so it's my pleasure to confirm that Voyage of the Damned will carry "a dedication to first Who producer Verity Lambert". This, and further news about the Christmas special and season 4, can be found at the SFX website:

Lambert honoured with achievement award

SFX have posted a 2006 interview which features Doctor Who's first producer:

• Verity Lambert meets Russell T Davies.

When I heard that Verity Lambert had died, I went over to FindAGrave to leave virtual flowers on her memorial. Problem was...Nobody had made a memorial for her. I searched several times to make sure.

So I made one.

Very sad to hear Verity Lambert’s passed away.

Doctor Who, The Naked Civil Servant, Rock Follies, Minder, GBH, as well as Adam Adamant Lives! and Quatermass… blimey.

Reading back it’s a list of all the TV that thrilled me when I was growing up, that I desperately wished I could see, or I wasn’t suposed to be watching… but I did.
